About the Event

Refugee Voices is hosting its inaugural expert panel to discuss the fast emerging opportunities for refugee-led advocacy amidst pandemic and recession. Join us to share your questions and be part of our movement for change in the COVID-19 world.

Speakers:

  • Behrouz Boochani, journalist, academic, author and former refugee
  • Grace Williams, Co-Director of Refugee Voices and human rights advocate
  • Julian Burnside, AO QC Barrister, author and human rights and refugee advocate

MC'd by the exceptional refugee advocates, Sarah and Maya Ghassali.

In the context of recession, pandemic and welfare stripped to the bone, what space is there to discuss the safety and protection of those who seek safety in Australia?

This is an agenda setting conversation for Australia’s refugee movement, led and driven by those from refugee backgrounds. We look forward to seeing you there.
